How to Gain and Retain More Customers with Email Marketing
Email marketing is becoming more widespread as a staple for companies in order to contact clients. With this widespread usage there has also become many complicated tactics and marketing strategies. I thought it would be helpful to go back to the basics and remind everyone why email marketing is so successful- it helps to gain and retain relations with contacts and potential customers. Here I have outlined to help remind you of three elementary ways to help gain more customers:
1) Target Your Audience
You can target your audience by writing specific emails that are tailored to different segments such as gender, age, and geographic location. Different segments of a list are likely to buy different products and services based on need. It’s important to send out different types of messages to different types of customers with different interests. You can also segment by click-rates. By segmenting people that are more prone to click on links in your emails, you can spark them to finally buy a product or service by sending them an offer or discount, since they have shown previous interest in your company’s emails.
2) Send Autoresponder Messages
Keep your recent signed-up contacts engaged by sending out informative and captivating “Thank You For Signing-Up” emails within a few days of the contact signing up. These remind customers why they have signed up and will keep them active as well as interested in your product since it is so close to when they have shown initial interest.
3) Send Out Email Newsletters
By sending out weekly, monthly, quarterly, or some other scheduled newsletter, customers will continue to be involved. These newsletters will give recipients easy-to-access avenues to stay in contact with your company as well as the further possibility that they will make a purchase. Do not only try to sell your product, but also give out industry tips and information so the customers feel like the emails are useful to them as a learning tool.
